What is Michigan Fashion Summit?
The Michigan Fashion Summit is a unique conference specifically focused on the business side of fashion with profit and business success strategies as the core of the summit sessions. Michigan Fashion Summit is a series of unique, hands-on, interactive workshops with action-oriented working sessions. Guests will walk away with a new mindset and develop new skills that can immediately integrate into their fashion business. Our goal for Michigan Fashion Summit is to show fashion designers, fashion journalists, fashion models, fashion students and any fashion professional how to build profitable, passion-filled businesses they love!
Michigan Fashion Summit is an extension of Michigan Fashion Week. Michigan Fashion Week is a company designed to showcase and highlights Michigan’s prestigious talent in the fields of fashion design, photography, art, and modeling, looking to present their businesses and talents in a professional manner. Through the production of industry-related events and social gatherings, Michigan Fashion Week assists designers and other industry participants in learning the business of fashion.
We create opportunities for invaluable exposure, networking and aligning them with experienced professionals and advocates in the industry and in business. We are now in our fifth year and have had 4 very successful, highly attended inaugural Fashion Weeks and have reached and touched over 1200 people each year. Michigan Fashion Week has had the honor to be featured on FOX 2 News, WDIV Channel 4 News, WADL Detroit, and the Word Network. We’ve also been featured in Crain’s Detroit Business, Hour Detroit and StyleLine magazine. Our exposure also includes radio, print, social media, and fashion blogs throughout the Country.

Founder

Loren "LOJO" Hicks is a clothing designer & the Founder of Michigan Fashion Week, Loren has an extensive fashion background that ranges from fashion publications to modeling and styling for top photographers across the world! Born and raised in the Detroit area, LOJO is known for her keen eye of fashion and her love for making all her clients look good. Although LOJO holds a bachelors degree in Statistics, from Grand Valley State University, she has chosen to make fashion design her main focus in life. LOJO has had extensive training in sewing and designing, and although she’s young, her desire is to one day pass what she has learned to the next generation.
Currently based out of Metro-Detroit, MI, LOJO has been busy working with her clients as well as many projects, including Michigan Fashion Week. LOJO, an award-winning businesswoman and fashion designer, which includes CRAIN's Detroit Business, Michigan Chronicle as well as the Detroit Institutes of Arts. LOJO also has a passion to help everybody succeed. If you have a dream of owning your own boutique, start a fashion styling business, be a fashion designer, she has studied the business had has learned the keys and component for a successful organization. LOJO has been seen on Bravo's Say Yes to The Dress.
